Hany Zekry

Hello! I’m Hany Zekry — originally from Egypt and living in Germany for over 10 years. My journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering in Egypt, where I developed a strong interest in smart technologies. My graduation project was a smart restaurant system using Li-Fi technology, which sparked my passion for creating intelligent, connected solutions that make everyday life more efficient. In 2014, I moved to Germany to pursue a Master’s degree in Communication and Multimedia Engineering at Friedrich-Alexander Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), focusing on LoRa technology and IoT performance. Since then, I’ve bridged the gap from academic research to industrial innovation, working across startups and large companies in roles focused on IoT development, cybersecurity, RF systems, and digital transformation. Outside of my tech career, I’ve been a lifelong martial artist. I was a karate champion in both Egypt and Germany, and now proudly serve as a licensed referee with the German Karate Federation (DKV). Karate taught me discipline, focus, and resilience — qualities I carry into every professional and personal challenge. With my multicultural background and deep understanding of life in Germany, I’m passionate about helping students and professionals — both in and outside of Germany — integrate, grow, and succeed. I offer mentoring in multiple languages, supporting technical skills, career planning, and smooth integration into German society.
